As the malls are becoming increasing congested with last-minute bargain hunters, digital distribution has never looked better. With this week's download-oriented new releases, gamers can skip the fights over parking spots, instead jumping right into the download queue. Once publishers figure our how to take a snapshot with Santa from the comforts of our own homes, those shopping meccas will be obsolete.

SeanNOLA's Pick: Less than two weeks before Christmas, and someone thought it might still be a good idea to release some games. If you absolutely have to burn $60 on something that just came out this week, I can whole-heartedly endorse finding a $60 sandwich shop. Imagine: a $60 sandwich! It would probably be a filet mignon, topped with bacon and havarti cheese on a pretzel bun. It will be the most amazing $60 you'll spend this week. If you have to buy a game that is coming out this week, then I guess Marvel Pinball for the PS3 is better than nothing, if you didn't already buy it for 360.
DesertEagle's Pick: For half the price of NOLA's dreamwich, you can score a copy of the Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition, which is basically the SNES remake of the four classic platformers (SMB 1-3 along with the punishing Lost Levels). If you don't have the cart lying around anymore, and yearn for some timeless Koopa-stomping, this might be the way to go.
